RESPIRATORY PHYSIOTHERAPY

Respiratory physiotherapy refers to the set of physical techniques aimed at eliminating secretions from the airway and improving pulmonary ventilation.

This through bronchopulmonary hygiene techniques which are divided into two large groups:

- Non-Instrumental Bronchopulmonary Hygiene Techniques

- Instrumental Bronchopulmonary Hygiene Techniques

The technique will vary according to the disease and conditions that the patient presents.

They are used in people with diseases that cause an increase in the production of broncho-pulmonary secretions (phlegm) and that also make it difficult to expectorate them.

The most frequent diseases that cause these increased secretions are:

- Acute or chronic bronchitis

- Bronchiolitis (infants and young children)

- Pneumonia

- Pulmonary fibrosis

- COPD
